Associate Professor & Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Vanka Ashok Kumar Reddy is an orthopaedic surgeon with around 11 years of experience in the specialty, currently serving as Associate Professor at Apollo Medical College, Chittoor. He consults at Win Health Hospitals, Chittoor, and Sri Siva Sai Ortho & Physio Hospital, B. Kothakota, and sees patients from across Chittoor, B. Kothakota, Madanapalle, Palamaner and Punganur.

He secured an Andhra Pradesh state rank of 52 in EAMCET — the joint entrance examination for the undivided state — earning him a seat at the prestigious Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, one of Telangana's oldest and most respected government medical institutions, for his MBBS. He went on to complete his MS in Orthopaedics at the equally prestigious Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangalore, a premier institution on the west coast known for its rigorous clinical training, where he also completed his postgraduate residency. He then trained further through a Fellowship in Joint Replacement (FIJR) at the renowned Sant Parmanand Hospital, New Delhi, gaining extensive training in spine surgery, arthroplasty, arthroscopy and trauma. He has also completed BCME and BCBR courses.

His academic career has progressed through Senior Resident and Assistant Professor roles at M V J Medical College and Research Hospital, Bangalore, and Assistant and Associate Professor positions at Pravara Institute of Medical Science, Loni, before his present appointment in Chittoor. Alongside teaching, he is a Visiting Consultant at Apollo Hospital, Aragonda, Win Health Hospital, Chittoor, and Sri Siva Sai Ortho & Physio Hospital, B. Kothakota.

His clinical work covers joint replacement across the hip, knee and other major joints through FIJR-trained expertise, complex trauma and fracture fixation including paediatric trauma and vertebral fractures, spine care for conditions such as lumbar and cervical disc prolapse, cervical spondylolisthesis and lumbar canal stenosis — managed through discectomy, TLIF, posterior stabilisation and ACDF — and knee arthroscopy including ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair. He has published on a range of orthopaedic subjects and remains actively involved in academic and research work.
